An Incredible Month

This past month has been awesome! It’s taken us to most of the country and we’ve been able to meet the BEST people and catch up with physically-distant friends.

We’ve spent so many hours in the bus and I can honestly say on behalf of the whole band, that we are SO thankful to everyone who has come to one (or a few!) of the Symmetry Tour shows. Each show has had a totally different vibe, though all have which have been thoroughly enjoyed by us. But more importantly, it seems as though each different crowd have enjoyed it too!

We are also so thankful to those of you who chose to join us prior to the show as a part of our VIP Packages. Also, thank you to every single person that picked up some merchandise after the show. You have no idea how much it helps us keep going, though more importantly, everyone looks incredible in our new T’s and we’re so proud to be a part of your poster collection on your wall. Please tag us with a shot of it J

We’d like to thank all the bands that joined with us in puling together a killer line up in each city: A Sleepless Melody (vic), Tim Nelson and the Cub Scouts (qld), Way With Words (vic), Love And Satellites (act), The London Town Fire (act), Drawing North (act), Jake Nauta (nsw), The Jefferson (nsw) and Dead Joe (sa).

Special thanks go out to great guys, musicians, and (happy to say) our new friends from For Our Hero (vic). Was great to tour the country with them – check them out if you haven’t already.

The Symmetry Tour would definitely not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the following legendary people:

Benjamin Stavert (media, PR, production, stage & show manager, tech)

Bryce Jepson (lighting designer/operator/builder, production)

Nate Balderston (head tech, production)

Ricki Cook (monitors, FOH, production)

Thom William (our 5th member)

Sam Freshwater (tech)

Daz Howard (driver, tech)

Ben Cue (FOH in Brisbane)

Emily Chenoweth (production in Melbourne)

Jeremy Sharp (booking agent)

Andy Mak (management)

Jordan Smith (management)

Nicole Hart and Nicole Stringer (publicity)

Brent Hampstead (media)

Ash Neuendorf (production supply)

Brad Stoicescu (transport king)

Karinne McPherson and the Hope UC team (production rehearsals)

All merchandise sales teams

All promo team members

All stage tech teams

So on behalf of Kale, Jeremy, Kyle and myself, thank you in abundance to everybody that came to, and played their part in the Symmetry Tour. It’s all for the love of music, and we hope to see you very soon!

One from the crew

After returning home after an incredibly intense tour weekend I am finally able to snatch a fleeting breath and reflect on the two insane shows we just put on. It begun at 7:30am Friday morning, when all eleven of us climbed into our seemingly shrinking twelve-seater bus and drifted down the highway to The Nation’s Capital. Pre-sale figures meant that the show had been moved from a hotel venue to Woden Stadium, and to be honest, none of us really knew what to expect. The schedule was tight that day. We arrived at the venue, unloaded the backline and production gear and in what seemed like seconds the boys were already back in the car heading down to the TEN studios for an afternoon interview. The venue was a huge sports centre, something that I can’t remember us doing recently. We all began our various duties, trying to ensure that the show was as good as it could be for all the “Canberrians” heading out that night. And that venue sure did see an insane performance that night. Bryce and the lighting team pulled off an amazing lighting show, and the set was out of this world.

After sneaking a few hours sleep in the bus home and even less in my own bed, I arrived at The Factory Theatre at around midday the next day. I walked in to see our production rig fully set-up, which widened my tired eyes. Bryce and the lighting team are truly mental. That afternoon, the V.I.P. session was another acoustic performance in the courtyard and what followed that night was truly spectacular. Not only were there hundreds of amazing guys and girls in attendance that night, but also family and friends- which definitely made the night even more special. From a production point of view, there were only a few very minor hiccups. But one thing I love is that even if we’re having panic attack side of stage trying to get something back up and running, yelling down walkie-talkies or even staring at each other with blank and confused looks, the crowd is still unbeknownst, completely enthralled in the sensational music that they came to experience. One highlight for me this tour has definitely been the acoustic set. That moment where the mood completely changes, and everyone can take a quick breather and soak up a couple of great songs in a new way. It’s a bit of a new thing and I hope that you’ve been loving it. So in closing, I hope everyone that came enjoyed what were two landmark shows for me personally, and I look forward to doing it all over again in Adelaide at Fowlers Live this Friday.
